Media Productions Analysis

Inner Redemption -
What went well with this movie trailer was that we could straight away tell that this was from the 'horror' genre. But something that could have been better was the sound, the audience could not hear the sound properly at all times.

The mise-en-scene used in this trailer were the setting of London, we see the capital of England being used as a setting during the trailer, we also see the different settings of a house, and different rooms in that house are used effectively. The lighting used mainly in this trailer is Low Key lighting which produces the strong contrasts of light and dark, it also creates dramatic shadows which build up more tension. We also see silhouettes being used against the window cell to again show suspense and mystery.  The costumes used in this are different through out the trailer, we see at one point one of the actress' is wearing a traditional Indian suit, we also see a lot of focus on the high boots of one of the actress'. The facial expressions at the beginning are normal but as the trailer progresses we see more close ups of the characters which lets the audience link with the expressions of fear and darkness with the characters. We see the non dietetic, parallel sound which is music we expect to hear accompanying this scene, in this cases it is a mysterious piano playing. We see a range of close ups, and medium shots which allow us to link with the expressions of the characters.

Romeo-
What went well with this movie trailer was that the cinematography was good; we see a range of camera shots, but it could have been better to show what genre the movie was from.

The mise-en-scene used in this trailer is the setting of parks, house and the long shots of buildings. We also see the use of light being shown through sunset. The lighting used in this trailer is High key lighting where the effects appear more realistic and depict either a sunny day. Even though shadows are created, the contrast between light and dark is much less pronounced. The costumes used in this movie trailer are a lot of hoodies and clothes we would expect teenagers to wear. The cinematography in this trailer was good due to the fact we saw a range of different shots, we see a reverse long shot; where the actors are coming towards the camera, this effect creates suspense as we try to identify the characters, we also see a lot of panning where the camera is moved slowly on its axis from side to side. This happens when one of the characters is pushed.
